Thank you for taking your first step towards counselling support, which can be a daunting process. In these uncertain times, it is not surprising that anxiety and stress levels are high and it is vital to know you can be listened to and share your concerns and fears without being judged or misunderstood.
In this current climate as we continue to manage our lives post-Covid-19, the effects of the virus has had a wide spread impact upon many lives. You may find it really helpful to talk about how you have been personally effected by the virus in order to come to terms with the traumatic impact this may have caused you.
TYPE OF THERAPY
I can offer you a supportive approach, emphasising warmth and empathy as we work together to explore the concerns you have at this time. While there is no ‘quick fix’, talking to someone and gaining greater self-awareness in itself can bring tremendous relief and be therapeutically rewarding. In a world where human contact can be minimal, loneliness and isolation is often a consequence, so knowing you are significant and not alone can make a huge difference.
I have a background in social care, having spent many years supporting people with emotional, mental, physical and spiritual challenges. This has given me a non-judgmental understanding and care for people generally struggling with life’s uncertainties.
Having experienced personal family loss, I am sensitive to painful and difficult issues which we often face in life and provide a safe and confidential space for you to honestly express your concerns, no matter how impossible or awful they may seem to you.
I have helped clients with anxiety, stress, panic attacks, fears and phobias, relationship breakdowns, bereavement and loss (including pregnancy-related loss), depression, suicidal tendencies, low self-esteem, anger and rejection. While this has been my experience, I am not limited to the above and welcome any issue you may be facing.
COST AND FREE INITIAL CONSULTATION
Our session would be for 50 minutes, and I offer long and short-term counselling for individuals at a charge of £50.00 per session, with a few concessions for low income families. Initially we would have a 20 minute free consultation on the phone or via zoom, in order to discover whether we feel therapy together is the best option for you. As a registered member of the BACP and the ACC, I follow their Ethical Guidelines by keeping your best interests in mind.
Our initial session enables you to explore your current concerns and establish if working with me would be useful to you at this time. I offer individual one to one sessions for 50 minutes, in a confidential and safe space at my private practice in Cranleigh, as well as online sessions, if this is preferable.
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
Everyone is different, some people come along for one or two sessions, others for several months or much longer. During our initial meeting we can decide together what will be best for you, open-ended or a fixed number of sessions, this can be discussed at any time depending on your needs.
